Dec 10: Family Xmas and celebrations at Sun Xi eventually went very well, though the check-in manager of Cebu-Pacific at HK airport tried his best to ruin it by denying Tim & Tash boarding as they couldn't produce evidence of their outbound ticket from Cebu. Grrrrr.

Nov 10: They say bad news comes in threes, well i think we have on top of the global financial crises and the Manila bus hijacking our third and unfortunately very local tragedy with an outbreak of Typhoid fever in 2 of the Alegria villages. Fortunately Lepanto is not affected but the provence is devastated. Time for the new Mayor and Barangay captains to show some mettle and deal decisively with those officials who have failed in their duty to provide clean water. The UN has recently declared that clean drinking water is a basic human right.

Oct 10: Alas Al-Boy our English Bulldog passed away either from can toad poisoning or some form of typhoid like sickness. We have lost a number of our dear canine friends due to similar illness, so we have to be more vigilant in looking after them. RIP Al.

Aug 10: The Manila bus hijacking is a tragedy beyond belief. People are rightly concerned that something needs to be done to assure visitors safety and health. It will take a lot of time and healing before tourism will resume. Mr. New President you need to take a very firm line.

Nov 09: Finally the electricity was connected and turned on - and ooh-la-la what a difference that has made. No more noisy generators and cool beers in the fridge.

Apr 09: Poles and holes have arrived in the mountains signalling that electrification is finally on the way - only some 257 years after Benjamin Franklin "discovered' it

Mar 09: Lepanto electrification program appears to be getting underway as Sebeco start to survey. Only a year after it was previously "promised"!

Nov 08: Xi Shack Bar & Restaurant is opened on the shore front in Alegria.

Aug 08: Lani turns 35. Radio personality DJ James Spider Kaka from MOR 97.1 FM was the DJ for the party. Not bad for a small resort tucked away in the mountains!

Apr 08: The staff of SunXi Resort celebrated the 50th birthday of headman Nigel on April 7th. It was an event to be remembered, from being awoken by a candle vigil accompanied with singing from the local parish choir at 3.30 in the morning. To dancing the cha cha late into the night with friends and family. On behalf of the staff, here's to you boss!

Jan 08: SunXi Resort recently got another dog (don't ask cause we've stopped counting) It's a 3 month old British Bulldog called Al (after the Beautiful British stand up comic Al Murray the Pub Landlord) Al will spend his days in The Hearth Bar, being told to sit by the miner birds. Pictures on the way.
